The world is actively seeking alternatives for highly in-demand petroleum. Biofuels, as a renewable energy, is one of the best solutions. China 's total energy consumption already occupies the second place in the world. China central government pays special attention to biofues. Now there are 5 fuel ethanol plants and 10 provinces in China are using E10 (totally or partly). There are dozens of biodiesel production companies in China . The standard of biodiesel was issued. “Mid and Long Term Development Plan of Renewable Energies” was issued in 2007, where it is indicated that by 2010, annual consumption of non-grain based fuel ethanol shall reach 2 million tons, and that of biodiesel shall reach 200 000 tons in China . By 2020, annual consumption of fuel ethanol shall reach 10 million tons, and that of biodiesel shall reach 2 million tons in China .
The 5th World Bioenergy Symposium will bring together vital stakeholders from many nations. Participants from government agencies, universities and enterprises will help focus the actions that need to occur. Bioethanol and biodiesel technology, resources supply and incentives will be discussed in depth. WBS will consist of plenary lectures, session presentations and posters. submit an abstract in English to fdpt@tsinghua.edu.cn . The abstract should follow the format provided (click here to down load the format,Word 31 KB) and should be connected to one of the following topics.
All the abstracts will be accepted in the poster session (poster size 80 cm wide X 120 cm high). Some excellent ones will be invited to give oral presentations. Please prepare the poster with above size. If you can not make the poster by yourself, we can help you with the poster preperation. If you want us to make the poster, please send the elctronic version to fdpt@mail.tsinghua.edu.cn with the title of the Email as "Poster preperation". The electronic version should meet the demands as follows: saved as ai, cdr, jpg or tif format with resolution higher than 300 dpi. Please note that Micro Powerpoint or Micro Word and other format documents can not accepted.
The abstracts will be accepted in the WBS2010 abstract book and the excellent ones will be selected to publish in "BIOFUELS" journal as full paper. Please refer to "Call-for-papers for special issue of Biofuels" for details.
